Event Greening is about how we put on events with mindfulness and purpose. Community events bring us together, but they also generate significant waste and and can be heavy on resources. By rethinking the planning process, we can drastically reduce environmental impact without compromising the quality of the experience from the start.

Event Greening Guide

A Framework for Every Organizer

Want to make your event more sustainable but don't know where to begin?

With the support of our community members and the Lanark County Climate Grant, we’ve created a free practical guide for organizers in Lanark County and Smiths Falls to help support your sustainability efforts. The handbook offers clear, easy-to-follow guidelines, helping you reduce your event's environmental footprint.

Whether you’re just starting out or ready to go full net-zero, we’re here to help you make your event as sustainable as it is memorable.

Event Greening at Stewart Park Festival

Climate Network Lanark has been Event Greening at the Stewart Park Festival for four years, helping to reduce the festival's environmental impact. CNL successfully diverts over 500 pounds of waste from the landfill over the course of the festival, properly disposing of recycling and compost.
